The harbour wall, known as The Cobb, has appeared in Jane Austen&#8217;s novel Persuasion and John Fowles novel The French Lieutenant&#8217;s Woman, as well as the film of the same name. Lyme has also been used in the filming of Wonka (202), Ammonite (2020), Persuasion(2007) (1971), plus more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The town&#8217;s beaches and cliffs<\/strong> are noted for their fossils and it was in cliffs east of Lyme Regis that<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhm.ac.uk\/discover\/mary-anning-unsung-hero.html\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.nhm.ac.uk\/discover\/mary-anning-unsung-hero.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> Mary Anning<\/a> found and identified dinosaur fossils.
